the fedora is very utilitarian. The brim is long enough to keep sun out of your eyes. I say around 2.5 to 3 inches is best for him to keep the sun out of your eyes. Also since made out of wool felt it keeps your head warm. the trilby lack utility because of stingy brim. If not on your style a game the trilby short brim can make you look goofy. the fedora is spring and fall hat that goes with a light jacket that lacks a hood.
